Malmsey aka malvasia is the sweetest style of Madeira but because it's got the characteristic freshness, it's also deliciously drinkable and versatile. This would be lovely sipped cool but not cold with mince pies, seed cake or a nice piece of blue cheese. And once you've opened the bottle, the contents will last for months without deteriorating though you'll probably polish the bottle off in a day or two.
