40 Year Old Liqueur Bottling Note

Our very own 40 Year Old Whisky Liqueur won World's Best at the 2013, 2014 and 2015 World Whiskies Awards! Made exclusively using 40 Year Old Single Malt Whisky from one of Speyside's most famous distilleries - at the time of launch this was the oldest Whisky Liqueur ever released for sale.

The base whisky used to make this extraordinary liqueur has matured for over 40 years in Speyside’s Traditional Warehouses, and upon reaching maturity has been carefully ‘seasoned’ with a few carefully chosen ingredients selected to match the flavour profile of the whisky, including Cinnamon, Orange Peel, and Cloves.

Excellent over ice, but more than good enough to drink neat – this liqueur has been only very lightly flavoured, allowing the superb quality of the intense base spirit to shine through.

For the Perfect Serve: Pour a healthy measure of Liqueur into a tumbler full of ice, and serve straight away.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: A very grown up nose, with rich leather notes, hints of cedar, cigar leaves, toffee apples, old sherry and woodsheds. Beguiling!

Palate: Rich and oaky with notes of soft wood smoke in a pine forest, Manuka honey, rum spice and cinnamon.

Finish: Beautiful length, fading away on damson jam, barley and nutmeg.

Master of Malt 40 Year Old Speyside Whisky Liqueur Reviews

Best ever!

Unbelievable! I got a dram of this a while back and I'm going to get some friends together and order a bottle for a special night!

The world's best

No doubt - this is absolutely incredible. The price is huge, but if it's only 40yo whisky being used as the base, then it's worth every penny.

Incredibly good

Incredibly good. The quality of the base whisky shines through. Just had another sip whilst writing this. Christ it's good.

Cheaper option

Superb .... Much cheaper though to buy 24 x 3cl samples than a bottle. £12.81 x 24 = £307.44 for 72cl as opposed to £519.95 for 70cl bottle. Make sense? Not sure who does the sums here ...

Mr Alex Ellis

The best I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. A1.

Massively Rich and Complex

Ten out of Ten.

No words can describe this. Just Unbelievable.

No question

This is the finest whisky liqueur I've ever tasted. Massive Depth and compexity, real umami richness and rancio like so many old cognacs. Not particularly sweet, but it benefits massively from this.

7th March 2013

sweet and breath-taking

my husband described this:-"sweet, full of flavour if a little over powering" but he would drink again.... one thats not to be forgotten
