Maraska have been making Maraschino for years upon years and even took their name from those special sour cherries used to make it. I purchased a bottle when we were in Croatia last summer. Truthfully, I bought it because it was in a beautiful hand blown bottle. During the “shelter in place” place this spring, I decided I might as well try it. I was pleasantly surprised. I did not find it overly sweet, at all. I am sorry I only purchased one bottle.
We love this liqueur discovered by a friend during a trip to Croatia, its fine taste and the specific flavor of cherry maraska is really delicious, it has become a staple of our digestive family meals!
This bottle arrived and the seal was broken. It was bought as a thank you gift for a friend, it has no cherry taste whatsoever. It tastes like pure sugar syrup and nothing else. He couldn't even drink it because he said it was like drinking sugar! This was a terrible gift and an entire waste of money for someone who loves cherry brandy. It's not as if it was cheap either. This is pure diabetes in a bottle. I'm so disappointed and have had to order cherry brandy from another retailer. I love almond flavour so love marzipan and Disaronno, I also love maraschino cherries. This has no flavour of either.
Beautiful town, sea and country blends perfectly into Maraschino. Aroma and taste one of a kind. One of the best liqueurs around.
