A very tasty pear liqueur from Joseph Cartron, Poire Williams is, somewhat unsurprisingly, made using Williams pears. The fruit is fermented for a few weeks before it's copper pot distilled, and is then left to age in glass demijohns for up to five years. We think a splash of this in a glass of fizz would be the perfect aperitif.
Rounded and full notes of pear flesh, along with sweeter notes of tinned pear syrup, though it remains delicate and light with a hint of peppery spice.
