York Gin Old Tom Bottling Note

York Gin's Old Tom is the tasty result of a collaboration with the Yorkshire Michelin-starred restaurant Star Inn, Harome. The slightly sweeter flavour comes from a Yorkshire sugar syrup exclusively developed for this gin, it's main ingredient white alba rose, native to Yorkshire hedgerows and famous for being the rose on the Yorkshire flag. Other ingredients include bronze fennel, star anise, angelica and pink peppercorns.

It looks like York Gin was almost destined to create an Old Tom expression, what with the cat on the label, and the history of tom cat-shaped plaques outside London gin houses, where you'd put a coin in the cat's mouth and a shot of gin would appear out of the cat's paw.

Amazing.

My husband and I were in York last week for my birthday and I had a sample of this gin, well it was amazing and came home with two bottles.

Delicious and mellow!

Never tried an Old Tom before but this is a delicious, mellow, smooth and well rounded gin. Plenty of flavour with just a tiny hint of sweetness - gorgeous with a light good quality tonic and a wedge of frozen lemon.

Unique fabulous flavour

Just the most delicious, unusual recipe - full of fresh flavours. Like a country garden in a glass! Thoroughly deserves its Gold Outstanding medal...

Complex smooth & satisfying

This isn’t a sweet gin by any means. Though the syrup gives it a rounded feel. Love that it has White Yorkshire Rose in it. It’s actually just a superb gin. Complex, smooth and satisfying. With a definite floral tone to it.
