Wild Island Botanical Gin comes from the Inner Hebridian Isle of Colonsay, which you can find north of Islay and south of Mull (you know, if gorgeous views and the possibility of seeing seals is your sort of thing). This coastal tipple is made with a base of ten classic gin botanicals, along with six hand-foraged botanicals from the island - bog myrtle, heather flowers, meadowsweet, lemon balm, wild water mint and sea buckthorn.
Citrus-forward, with fresh mint and black tea hints coming through.
This gin is made in Birmingham. That’s about it for the connection with the Island of Colonsay.
I have been drinking gin all over the world for many years and have never been more surprised with a gin. This is is without a doubt the smoothest, mellowest, I could wax lyrical all night long about this gin and it wouldn’t come close to doing it justice. Try it and you won’t be disappointed. My favourite is with a splash of bitter lemon and plenty of ice
