Wicked Wolf Exmoor Gin Bottling Note

Wicked Wolf Exmoor Gin is made in North Devon using a selection of 11 botanicals - these include juniper, angelica, cardamom, coriander, cubeb, grains of paradise, hibiscus, Kaffir lime leaves, orange peel, lemon peel and lemongrass. The distillers recommend this in a G&T garnished with lemon and thyme!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Clean juniper and lemon. Angelica gives it a floral element.

Palate: Layers of fresh citrus and hibiscus sweetness, joined by a hint of fennel seed.

Finish: Drying cubeb peppery hints, and a touch of savoury thyme.

A lockdown treat.

Bought for me in a pub on Exmoor and fell in love with it. I have tried many gins and this is the best.

So good I don’t want everyone to be in on the secret!

I’ve tried many gins, and this is still by far my favourite! A beautiful gin from a beautiful part of the country. Definitely North Devon’s best kept secret! 🐺

I'm Converted

Has to be my favourite Gin at the moment. Absolutely delicious. Wouldn't normally spend so much on a bottle of Gin, but after trying it, I just had to have bottle!

30th August 2018

A great gin, smooth and flavoursome

There are many quality gins available now and Wicked Wolf is, in my opinion, one of the best - the flavours are bright, clean and robust which I prefer. Excellent served with a slice of lime and a couple of lumps of ice with a premium tonic. Extremely happy to recommend Wicked Wolf to all gin lovers.

Almost average

Distinctly average, which is a shame having purchased due to rave reviews. Can only assume the other reviewers have either never tried gin before or (more likely) are all the same person and / or work for the company!

Def tastes herby , thyme or maybe rosemary. On holiday by Exmoor at the moment would recommend trying it n the mountain of gins to choose from. I want to take a bottle home

Absolute corker of a gin

An absolute corker - great taste of cardamon and botanicals. Nothing not to like - great over ice, with lime or lemon. I am converting all of my friends nationwide to this gin...regularly have to take a bottle away with me.

An exmoor gem

I tried wicked wolf gin for the first time whilst on holiday on exmoor this was such a fabulous discovery and now I'm gifting it to my friends for Christmas...nothing wicked about that!😊

1st December 2016

Wonderfull! Simple & Clean like no other

I tried a lot of Gin's and the Wicked Wolf is so wonderfull! It's my absolutly favourite!
Why? He is sooooo clean, had a fresh juniper taste without the strength and therefore it's refreshing!

I drink my Gin always as Gin Tonic and the WW works fine with soooooooo many Tonics. My fav: Schweppes Premium Mixers Pink Pepper, but also the Hibiscus Version, 1724 and the Cortese!

The only Gin that never should run out in my collection! Wicked Wolf is a MUST.

An excellent flavoured gin with wild herbs and grassy nose. My clients have tried this on numerous occasions and have had nothing but good feedback .To be drank with or without mixers gives this gin options a plenty for all you budding mixologists.

Unique experience

Fresh aroma of botanicals followed by the cardamom and lemon grass...wonderful! If you don't want to drink straight over ice, I would recommend Fever Tree Mediterranean Tonic that add great floral tones that compliment this superb gin.

As a recent convert to G&T (but only with decent gin!) I was introduced to this product when visiting friends in north Devon. Needless to say, I purchased some whilst there and can honestly say it is superb. I made the mistake of sharing it with family over Christmas so stocks are now low :( !!

2nd January 2016

Drove 40 miles to pick some up.

I tried this gin at The Prospect Inn in Exeter. I liked it so much I looked up where to buy some, one shop said they had 2 bottles left so I reserved them and drove over 40 miles across Devon to pick them up. Well worth the trip! This gin is incredible and I am betting it won't be long before it wins some top awards. It's always out of stock so that tells you something!

27th November 2015

Simple the best

Smooth and elegant, has a lovely fresh floral note that gives way to wonderful warm spices, it packs a mouthful of flavours beautifully layered. Stunning as a sipping Gin or as a Gin & Tonic with Lime. Originally bought this as novelty Gin, but on tasting was just blown away, a firm favourite.

26th November 2015

An absolute beast

They have this where I work and it's pretty epic. We have about 25-30 of the classic "craft" gins, and this is by far the most intense Gin experience. I personally love it, a real fresh citrus kick, with lots of wild thyme and rustic heather notes. For those that know Exmoor, you'll understand the terroir of this perfectly. it makes the striking scenery, moist mists and wicked winds perfectly. Great neat sipping gin, or in a G+T. See if you can get hold of some Exmoor caviar too. It exists, and this makes a great alternative to champagne as a pairing.

Wow, this is a wonderful gin, beautifully aromatic, the flavours are very unique and very evident. It really does take gin to the next level. Very genuinely, after just one glass, it was elevated to my favourite gin (and I love gin!). Please do not waste this on cheap tonic, treat it to something tasty like Fever Tree or similar. I really hope this product does well, I'd hate to ever lose my new favourite!
