This Italian gin is named after a naval doctor from the 1800s. Gil came across the antidote against the venom of the viper, which also happened to make a very tasty gin. In this version of his creation, juniper is accompanied by Italian lemon, grapefruit, bitter and sweet orange, alongside wormwood, elderflower, lavender, aloe, and oregano. Whew! Just a few botanicals then. Each ingredient is infused in spirit separately before it's allowed to marry together in the bottle for 40 days. A top Mediterranean gin!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Lots of zesty citrus, tart and sweet, with wafts of florals, fresh Mediterranean herbs, mint, and woody juniper.
