Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Richly perfumed (as you might expect from the name). Subtle sweetness of honey and almond. Soft rye spiciness.

Palate: Vanilla, rose petal jam, rounded juniper and light hints of redcurrant.

Finish: Delicately floral on the finish, supported by more vanilla and nutty chocolate.

Strathearn Heather Rose Gin Reviews

Wonderful!

I first tried this at the Ranoch moor hotel served with a slice of orange. Love love love it! Definitely my favourite gin!

A lovely drink, IMO best served with Fever-tree Mediterranean light tonic, for a night by the fire.

Beautifully smooth with lovely soft, but subtly spicy overtones. I think this is now my new favourite gin!! 😘

Like drinking perfume

I’m a big fan of spicy, big flavoured gins. I also love floral notes - one of my favourite cocktails features crème de violette but sadly, I found this pretty much undrinkable. There was, to me at least, an overpowering, almost lavender taste (which I assume was the heather?), which almost number the back of my tongue. I tried to give it to a friend but he wasn’t keen either.

A champagne of a celebratory gin.

One to drink from a champagne flute, with an added equal measure of Premium tonic – which turns the colour from peaty gold to rose gold. With its notes of rose petals, vanilla, honey, almond and a hint of chocolate, it would also be good served with an equal measure of Luscombe Damascene Rose Bubbly. Begs for a hibiscus flower garnish. One to toast the betrothed, the beloved, and the best in life.

Gorgeous but only add ice and good tonic water.

My absolute favourite gin but don't add lemon or lime. Treated myself to a bottle but my family keep trying it!

Brilliant

Out of all the brilliant gin this small distillery has produced, this is my favourite! Totally hooked!

splendid discovery, thanks to the MoM editor's comments (never miss a point, those guys!)

Delicate and Floral

I bought this as one of a tasting set. I agree with all the previous reviews. This is truly a light, floral, easy to drink summer gin. It's just not to my taste. My preference is for a more robust tipple with more pronounced botanicals.
