Shortcross Gin is made by Northern Irish craft gin distillery, Rademon Estate. This small batch gin is made using their custom made still, which features a 450 litre copper pot still and two enrichment columns. Using intriguing botanicals like fresh apple, elderberry and wild clover, as well as juniper, coriander, orange peel, lemon peel and cassia, they produce a vibrant, floral style of gin that befits savouring it neat, as well as enjoying with tonic.
Why not try a Shortcross Elderflower Collins?
- 50ml Shortcross Gin
- 20ml Elderflower Liqueur
- 30ml Fresh lemon juice
- A dash of Sugar Syrup
- Soda/Sparkling water
- Fresh sprig of mint
Combine Shortcross Gin, elderflower liqueur, lemon juice and sugar syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until well chilled. Half fill a tall glass with ice and pour in cocktail mixture. Top up with soda water and stir gently, then serve with a sprig of mint. Refreshing and delicious!
Juniper and orange peel forward, followed by light mint, elderberry and perfumed coriander notes.
Oily mouth feel. Sweet vanilla, subtle pepper and juniper. Orange peel and elderberry appears later on.
Long and warm with pepper and orange.
Beautiful Gin - I would like to stock this in our Micro Pub -
wooo delicious elegant but dry notes
Picked up a bottle at Belfast airport where the young chap was serving a tasting. My word I have never had a gin taste so flavoursome and aromatic neat, and once I got home with Tonic it was even better. Simply superb, could not recommend enough!
Outstanding. Best Gin ever tried
Shortcross Gin was the gin that got me into drinking gin, as I avowed I'd never drink the "stuff". I had the good fortune to have a drink made from Batch 1, bottle no. 3 in May 2014. I immediately noticed how smooth it was, no overpowering alcohol hit and the "oily" feel due to the orange peel extracted oils. One of my favourite gins and strongly recommended. Serve with a decent tonic (Fevertree or 1724) and de-waxed thin orange peel. Put bottle in freezer to slowly release the aromas when drinking.
