Shortcross Gin is made by Northern Irish craft gin distillery, Rademon Estate. This small batch gin is made using their custom made still, which features a 450 litre copper pot still and two enrichment columns. Using intriguing botanicals like fresh apple, elderberry and wild clover, as well as juniper, coriander, orange peel, lemon peel and cassia, they produce a vibrant, floral style of gin that befits savouring it neat, as well as enjoying with tonic.
Why not try a Shortcross Elderflower Collins?

- 30ml Fresh lemon juice
- A dash of Sugar Syrup
- Soda/Sparkling water
- Fresh sprig of mint
Combine Shortcross Gin, elderflower liqueur, lemon juice and sugar syrup in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until well chilled. Half fill a tall glass with ice and pour in cocktail mixture. Top up with soda water and stir gently, then serve with a sprig of mint. Refreshing and delicious!
Juniper and orange peel forward, followed by light mint, elderberry and perfumed coriander notes.
Oily mouth feel. Sweet vanilla, subtle pepper and juniper. Orange peel and elderberry appears later on.
Long and warm with pepper and orange.

Tried this in a hotel last year. By far the best gin I've ever tasted. Served with tonic and a slice of blood red orange. Puts others to shame, and believe me, I know my gin !
I have been on a quest for the perfect G&T. I find a lot of gins a little too acerbic but Shortcross has a soft yet complex juniper and sweet floral taste which is all brought together by a twist of orange peel and decent tonic water (personally I use FeverTree.) Best G&T I ever sipped.
I would honestly say this was an average gin at best. In our household we have renamed it shortcut gin as really below average. Think I will stay with Other gins.
Tasted this for first time last week had it with slice orange ginger beer loved it can taste elderberries coming through has a kick to it
Tried this gin recently in the Plough, Old Inn Crawfordburn; just love it , saving up to buy a bottle. Will be worth the wait.
