Nose: Oh there is a lot going on here... woody, vegetable smells under pin fresh grassy citrus notes and botanical sweetness, like a pine forest after the rain.
Palate: Predictably complex, this is a robust and powerful gin with plenty of spice, fruit and herb flavours. It's very well structured, and difficult to unpick but a citrus fresh start segues into pine and wood notes for a drying finish.
Finish: Wooded and reassuringly heavy.
Overall: A unique gin, that is crying out to be made into a Martini. It'll need an equally robust vermouth though.

Probably the best gin ever. I like Tanqueray10 and Oxley but this has to be the best. Fevertree tonic and a twist of lime - sublime.

Delicious flavour, introduced with a bottle by a German friend, great find!

Wow!This gin is quite simply one of the nicest I have tasted!! With a slimline tonic it is a classic combination in which all flavours are complimented.

I had this when I went to a decent UK restaurant. It totally blew my mind. This is the best gin I've ever had. It goes well with the traditional tonic, or vermouth, or a bit of plum, or even just with a little ice - it's heavy enough to hold up by itself. And it is unique, cannot recommend enough.

I have tried many a Gin, but none compare to this! I couldn't quite make out initially what I was smelling but I felt like I was sitting out in a meadow on a Spring day. This Gin is an absolute delight to drink. Beautiful, refreshing, intense. My favourite, definitely. If you like Gin, you must try this!

I first tried this gin at Eat Street Social in Minneapolis, MN and I instantly fell in love and had to go buy myself a bottle. It makes the best gin Old-Fashioned I've ever had.

New favourite after being introduced to it by a German friend. Need to find a way to get this to the LCBO!

Drink with Pedrino tonic for the most exquisite G and T. Nothing like it!

Superb! One of the smoothest gins I have ever tasted ..... Definitely best taken with simply ice and perhaps a few leaves of mint or slices of cucumber. Would suggest not adding tonic of any kind to it (even Fever Tree!) .New Favourite Gin!

I tried this in a gin bar in bath and have finally hunted down a bottle of it for myself! I like it with a sugar free tonic water and lots of ice, you don't want anything to interfere with the flavours here. It's a really fab drink!
Barcelona has a very big gin scene and this was one of many, many gins I drank. It was my hands down favorite and I highly recommend it.
29th June 2014
The best gin I've ever tasted, also. I mix it with one cube of ice, freeze the bottle or put a touch of excellent water with it to open the character up.

We expanded our gin range at our establishment and I ordered this on the strength of the below reviews...the first bottle was emptied in two days! After trying it neat and in a G&T, I have to agree that it is the top 5 best gins I have come across!

Best gin I have had. Just returned from a trip to Southern Germany, including the Schwarzwald region and had the opportunity to try this. Simply better than any gin I have had to date.

29th March 2014
best gin discovered so far
10th March 2014
One of the best I have had, and my current favourite. The type of gin where you want to drink the whole bottle in one sitting, but you know you'll be sad when it's gone. Has a lovely aroma. It's a shame the bottle is so small!
23rd January 2014
First tried it in Cambodia, the bottle was removed from me as I would have sat there drinking it all. It must be the best Gin available especially when drinking it neat.Thankyou

My partner was so impressed by Monkey 47, he brought the empty bottle back from Frankfurt. One sniff of what was left, and I was hooked. Thank goodness we found a UK distributor. This gin is surprising, bold, complex and uncompromising. Pair it with Fever Tree, and there is nothing like it. Simply, the best.
9th June 2013
Absolutely amazing gin. Unforgettable with a good quality tonic - no ice - in a tall tasting glass. Had this gem before a meal of seafood - perfect. Extremely nice presentation also - looks great as a valuable addition to a home bar
23rd April 2013
I first tried this gin about a year ago in Barcelona and fell in love with it. I brought back to bottles to Canada where it is unfortunately not available (I'm working on that). This is by far the most complex gin I have tasted and definitely a welcome addition to any liquor cabinet. Agreed with the comment above about the pairing with Fever Tree...
21st April 2013
This is amazing! A real intrigue tasted straight and just perfect with Fentimans tonic.
8th February 2013
Fascinating taken straight, but i definately reccommend in a collins with a touch of cranberry juice to bring out the sweetness. In fact, this gin is sensational with just cranberry juice alone!
27th November 2012
first tasted in Brugges and blown away.a complex and inviting taste sensation.Great with fever tree tonic and fresh lime.
