The first product from the recently opened Glasgow Distillery Company, in the city of Glasgow is Makar Gin, launched in 2014 and named after the Gaelic word for "poet" or "bard". To make it, they use their copper pot still - affectionately called Annie - and seven botanicals, including juniper, angelica root, liquorice, coriander seed, lemon peel, rosemary, black peppercorns and cassia bark. Juniper-led, backed up by citrus and spice, with angelica and rosemary standing out on the palate and finish.

Sorry but found this to be a bit bland and we were not keen on the herbal botanics.
A perfect dry gin. Ok there’s some Glasgow prejudice but it really is one of the best
Being a fellowette Glaswegian whom now lives on the sunny side of the globe in the land of plenty, yes that would be Australia, where veggie mite sangas are renowned, good auld Men at work a. Ok back to said Gin, I had the pleasure of sampling this wee beauty on my last trip back hame in January 2017, where? In dear auld Glesga toon, Bar Square to be precise, an Irish man, yes an Irish man introduced me to this delicious wee beverage, loaded with red chillies of course, on his recommendation, I have to say I wasn't disappointed at all, the aroma of this smooth but suprisingly refreshing wee swally had me all in a tither, my only disappointment was that I was unable to take a wee bottle back to Oz. Keep wee Annie in the brewing custom that she is so deserving of, if she is producing fabulously brilliant wee Gins like this then she is worth her weight in gold, oops copper ? My apologies for waffling on but honestly I couldn't help myself... Yours in beverage love Barbara.
Very bold and full of flavor heavily scented with rosemary which lingers on .Its a unforgettable gin I highly recommend this one .
I had never tried Gin until I went to the rotary clubs beer and gin festival in Dalgety bay . Well I tried a gin before your one and don't like it in fact my words were if that's GIN it's yuk . I have worked in the alcohol trade before and tried lots of various other alcohols from whisky to beer to very expensive champagne. So when a friend said to me to try your Glasgow gin I was reluctant at first . But I have to say I'm converted as I found it very refreshing , it left my palate with a fruity berry taste. I enjoyed it so much I would buy a bottle to have . So thank you for making this delightful Gin .
