Emporium 2 from Mycroft Gin wants to bottle the taste of floral, rose-scented days. So, alongside traditional botanicals there's hemp, star anise and most importantly rosehip! It's distilled in Scotland and also blended with Highland spring water before bottling at 41% ABV. Aromatic and slightly spiced, this should do very well with any floral tonic.
Sweet and gently spiced anise, with a citrus hint alongside piney juniper, distinct notes of rose balanced by a slightly grassy undertone.
I went all in and bought a bottle of each of the Mycrofts. Did two separate tastings. First day a simple G&T with a classic and simple tonic and on day two only the G. Overall they are fantastic! And the bottle and cap are cool. You can repurpose the bottle due to the cap (screw lid) so now you have a nice water bottle (I have three, right). I'll repeat this intro for all three emporia. And now special notes on emporium 2: This is the cheeky gin. The gin with soooo much flavour and taste notes that you almost get confused. No need to experiment with fancy tonics. It has so many surprising notes and you can only have a few - bot those few are great. The licorice note of the anise and the bitter, yet sweet impression of the rosehip ... and then that orange citrusy floral thing. Challenging - but awesome as a digestive or when supper is two hours away
