Kokoro Gin is a London dry gin made with a selection of botanicals that includes fresh Sansho berries, which are popular in Japanese cuisine.
Sweet though peppery juniper, leading into the subtle spice and citrus-y notes of the Sansho berry. A hint of orange pith develops a little later on.
Outstanding Gin, both with and without tonic. When tasted neat the warm peppery spice of the Sansho berry really peeks through, with the citrus elements as more of a side note. However, when combined with tonic the citrus really begins to show its colours and the pepper is toned down significantly, making it much more smooth. It's the ability to mould the flavour of this gin that I really love; If you like bold peppery flavours then drink it neat, if you like more citrus flavour with pepper as a side note then drink it with tonic. Either way the gin tastes beautiful with pink grapefruit.
