Not only does Gin de Charente make their cracking gin in Cognac, they've even gone and aged some of it in casks that previously contained Cognac too! The London dry gin spends three to four months maturing in said casks, developing soft, creamy, vanilla-rich notes alongside the juniper-forward elements.
The Charentais melon notes of the original expression are bolstered here, with soft hints of apricot and caramel in support. Juniper and liquorice notes still come through cleanly.
