Villa Ascenti Gin Bottling Note

Villa Ascenti Gin screams "Italy" in size 56 font. And that font is probably bolded too... Anyway, yes, Villa Ascenti Gin comes to us via Distilleria Santa Vittoria and aims to celebrate the region's excellent ingredients. Produced in a refurbished 1970s Frilli copper pot still, it contains some terrific Piedmontese botanicals including Moscato grapes, mint and thyme, alongside Tuscan juniper berries, crafted by master distiller Lorenzo Rosso.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Bright juniper introduces a vibrant fruity quality to the spirit, bolstered by the subtle grape notes. Refreshing mint gives it a leafy edge.

Reviews for Villa Ascenti Gin
Very pleasant and refreshing gin
Gorgeous gin, so good I am looking to buy another bottle. Served as recommended with Prosecco and a dash of soda turns this smooth gin into a lovely refreshing cocktail. Very nice.

Drink it neat, or with only a dash!
Yes, the mint is very clear on the nose, but this gin is as smooth as silk and it's almost a shame to put much mixer with it. It's one of the rare gins where you can almost treat it like a liqueur (e.g. the top end grappas), and it's a really easy drinking, after dinner tipple. Perhaps because it's so smooth, if you put it in a long G&T, then you won't get much other than the mint, but don't let that put you off if you also like to have your gin with just ice and a slice.

Too minty
Mint is absoltuely dominant, so it is hard to call this a gin in the sense that juniper should be dominant in the favour-profile. May work in minty drinks, but unfortunately not good in a gin and tonic

Cool fresh gin.
Lovely fresh tasting gin. Serve with mint leaves for a cool refreshing drink. Add limes for a ‘mojito’ gin experience
