Lyme Bay Blackbeer Raisin Bottling Note

This expression from Lyme Bay Winery is enjoyably malty, yet rich in dried fruit notes. A fine balance, and said to be rather delicious when enjoyed alongside a good hard cheese. Get yourself some Somerset cheddar and tuck in.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Dried fruit, almost sherry-esque, with barley and vanilla hints developing later on.

Lyme Bay Winery Blackbeer & Raisin Fruit Wine Reviews

A Revelation

This was a revelation. I would say it compares favourably with a lovely French dessert wine I like from the Maury region made from Grenache grapes.
Not quite like sherry, but very distinctive and it paired well with some lovely Wookey Hole cheddar and a white flesh nectarine. Hard to find where I live, I travelled 10 miles to a lovely farm shop, who stocked all the Lyme Bay wines.
I'll be back.
