A wonderful raspberry (framboise in French) eau de vie from G. Miclo, made by either fermenting or macerating the fruit in alcohol prior to distillation. Loads of character in this!

Outstanding, perfect balance, lots of flavour without any alcohol awkwardly poking its nose in.
I think it is rather distillated to reach 40%. Fermenting is for wine, macerating for liqueurs and crèmes. But this is 1st class, very rich in flavor and taste.
