St. Germain was founded by Rob Cooper in 2006, potentially inspired by a homemade fresh elderflower infusion he tasted in 2001. The famous liqueur is made with hand-harvested French elderflower blossoms and macerated in neutral grape spirit and sweetened with a touch of sugar. Because the flowers lose their vibrancy and fragrance rather quickly, they’re often transported from the fields to the collection depot by bicycle. The bottles also continue this vintage direction, and are very stylish indeed – you’ll certainly be able to spot the tall, angular bottle on a back-bar. In 2013, the brand was sold to Bacardi.
