Oro Gin Distillery

This bespoke distillery in Dalton was established in 2017 by the Clynick family, primarily head distiller Ray Clynick, a scientist who was a graduate of the prestigious Heriot Watt International Centre for Brewing & Distilling. With a team of experts in science, chemistry and distilling, the brand places a significant focus on using scientific research and production methods and every moment of the distillation process, whether it’s regarding the dilution point or solvent extraction method is meticulously calculated. This forms a key part of the brand identity, who released its core expression, Oro Gin*, in 2018.

The Oro name was chosen to imbue a sense of luxury in keeping with the image the brand wanted to convey, as ‘oro’ means gold in both Spanish and Italian. The gin’s logo uses concentric circles to represent the atomic suborbital structure of gold itself.

*Anybody else only just realise that Oro Gin sounds a lot like the word ‘origin’?
