Lough Mask Distillery, in County Mayo, is more than a spirits maker. It's a symbol of passion, nature, and heritage. The distillery draws from County Mayo's rugged landscapes, Lough Mask's clear waters, and local history and culture. It's in Killateeaun, or "Fairy Wood."
The Resurrection of a Dream
The distillery started with an empty lakeside building. It was transformed into a micro-distillery. Since 2018, Lough Mask Distillery has made spirits that reflect its surroundings.
The Craft and its Creations
The distillery uses unique copper pot stills. They are handcrafted with an ancient Alembic design. The distillery also focuses on sustainability. It repurposes equipment from small breweries, distilleries, and dairy farms.
Loch Measc Single Malt Whiskey
This whiskey is a labour of love. It uses fine malt barley and Loch Measc's waters. It ages in American and European oak barrels, giving it a rich, spiced flavour. Peated and unpeated versions are coming after three years of maturation.
Loch Measc Gin
This gin captures the wild Irish countryside. It uses local juniper berries for a bold flavour. It's great in a G&T or a classic Negroni.
Loch Measc Vodca
The "Vodca" is a tribute to the Irish language. Made with top grains and Lough Mask's waters, it's smooth and distinct.
A Call to Experience
The area around the distillery is stunning. Visitors can experience the beauty that inspires the creators. Every sip of their spirits is a journey through wild landscapes, rich flavours, and Irish tradition.
