Le Rughe Wine
Le Rughe is a Prosecco producer located in the heart of the Prosecco DOC region in Italy. The main grape variety used in the production of Prosecco at Le Rughe is Glera. These Proseccos are celebrated for their quality and taste, embodying the characteristics expected from the Veneto region's celebrated sparkling wine.
Le Rughe, like many other wineries in the region, employs modern viticultural and winemaking techniques. This ensures that the Prosecco produced is consistent in quality, retaining the freshness and vivacity that the wine is known for. The fermentation process is typically carried out using the Charmat method, where secondary fermentation occurs in large pressurised tanks rather than in individual bottles.
Prosecco DOC is the standard Prosecco produced by Le Rughe. It's a sparkling white wine, known for its pale straw-yellow colour, greenish highlights, and fine bubbles. On the nose, it offers aromas of green apple, pear, and floral notes. On the palate, it's typically light-bodied, with a harmonious and crisp finish.
Given the recent popularity of rosé sparkling wines, some Prosecco producers have ventured into producing Prosecco Rosé, combining Glera with a percentage of red grape varieties, resulting in a pink hue and a profile that's a blend of the classic Prosecco characteristics with added red fruit notes.
