Green Island Rum is based in sunny Mauritius, producing a selection of rum styles, including white rum, spiced rum and a well-known overproof rum - Tilambic 151. Not only is it bottled at an eye-watering 75.5%, it’s also aged for up to 7 years prior to bottling. Their most recognised spirit is the Green Island Supieror Light Rum, which has been enjoyed since the 1960s. It’s aged for around 3 to 5 years and charcoal filtered to remove the colour but not the flavour. Green Island also import a few other rum brands from Mauritius to the UK.
