Description
The Roger Groult family distillery can be found in the hills of the Pays d'Auge, where they've been making their Calvados for 5 generations! Distilled twice in traditional direct-fired stills, this Calvados was aged for 3 years. Named World's Best Calvados at the World Calvados Awards 2014.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Pear drops, a drop of golden honey too, slightly chalky. Mr Kipling's exceedingly good Bramley Apple Pies. Distant lemongrass.
Palate
Good, slightly tart, fresh green apple. Pine nuts. Apple pencil sweets.
Finish
Fresh with water mint.
Overall
A cracking 3 year old from the the Clos de la Hurvanière.
