The Roger Groult family distillery can be found in the hills of the Pays d'Auge, where they've been making their Calvados for 5 generations! Distilled twice in traditional direct-fired stills, this Calvados was aged for 3 years. Named World's Best Calvados at the World Calvados Awards 2014.
Nose: Pear drops, a drop of golden honey too, slightly chalky. Mr Kipling's exceedingly good Bramley Apple Pies. Distant lemongrass.
Palate: Good, slightly tart, fresh green apple. Pine nuts. Apple pencil sweets.
Finish: Fresh with water mint.
Overall: A cracking 3 year old from the the Clos de la Hurvanière.
