Spirit of the Downs in Sussex uses pressed grapes from local small-batch sparkling wine producers to make a characterful range of brandies and grape spirits. This particular brandy was made using Chardonnay grapes from Breaky Bottom vineyard near Rodmell on the South Downs Way and aged in English oak casks.
Delicate florals, a touch of pepper, and soft caramel on the nose, with roasted hazelnuts, toasted marzipan, apricot, and warming spice on the palate.
