Island bitters - so perfect in a tiki cocktail like a mai tai, daiquiri or zombie - this is my go-to for an old fashioned with dark sugar and high quality bourbon. no wonder it's always sold out in Canada....
Question: What’s better than a flavour of your favourite childhood soda being embodied in a bitter? Answer: the feeling of someone kicking you in the groin because this Bottle of Bitters tasted more like an over the counter cough strip than any of the bitters I’ve ever used in my life. Root beer is universally liked- hard to mess up. Even cheap chapstick companies can translate the flavour through their products and those aren’t meant for consuming. How did this bitters get on the market? I tried to give this brand a chance. We even tried other flavours, including the cherry one- again, another flavour favourite. Think again. Not sure who’s behind the flavouring for this brand but maybe it’s time to rethink putting cough syrup in bitter bottles. Was hoping for more! -E.
