Bitter Bastards use innovative rapid-maceration and centrifugal extraction to eliminate unwanted flavours and preserve the tasty ones, with vanilla, cinnamon, clove and two types of orange peel used. The clarified bitters are then filled into a fresh American oak cask for four months.
These full-bodied cocktail bitters work wonders in all sorts of splendid libations, particularly those centred around whisky (or whiskey).
Nose: Old-fashioned cola cubes, orange peel and a good helping of vanilla. Touches of liquorice root and tobacco.
Palate: A big rush of vanilla, freshly chopped herbs, aniseed and orange zest. Developing notes of cardamom and plump raisins.
Finish: Lasting clove and sultana notes, with a final flourish of rich cigar box aroma.
