It's the Grand Vin from Provence's famous Chateau La Coste estate. It's a blend of grenache, syrah and cabernet sauvignon, and aged in French oak. Think of this as the equivalent of something fancy from Bordeaux mixed with something equally fancy from the Rhone valley. After a few years in the bottle its tannins have softned and this is drinking beautifully now. We recommend decanting before serving with roast lamb cooked with lots of herbs.
Ripe blackcurrants, blackberries and plums with aromatic spices, herbs such as mint and rosemary, firm tannins and a little toasty oak.
