Sherried single malt from Dutch distilling maestros, Zuidam. As with all of their whisky, this has been bottled under their Millstone name (a reference to the mills that grind the grain for distilling). It was distilled in February 2010 and allowed to age in an Oloroso hogshead for 6 years before it was bottled in March 2016 for our Single Cask series.
Menthol, Nutella on toast and oat biscuits with oodles of raisins in the dough. Honey-roast peanut notes appear later on.
Oily malt and dried fruit. Hints of clove and cinnamon lead to Christmas cake and malt loaf.
A light hint of charred oak and rum-soaked raisins.

I have always enjoyed Millstone when I visit Holland and was not let down by this excellent offering. Its a beautiful, caramelly, sweetish dram that has to have a small amount of water added to open it up. I will be buying more.
