Yellowstone Select Kentucky Straight Bourbon

Yellowstone Select Bottling Note

From the Yellowstone range (owned by Limestone Branch, which was founded to bring back the glory that Yellowstone once held many moons ago) comes the Select Bourbon.

Made with a mash bill of 75% corn, 13% rye, and 12% malted barley, it's a full-bodied, easy-sipping bourbon with a good spicy rye kick. What’s more, it’s not just named after a national park – a portion of Yellowstone bourbon proceeds are donated to the National Parks Conservation Association!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Dry oak, menthol, dark fruit. Subtle smokiness develops after a minute.

Palate Rather creamy with plenty of vanilla fudge notes. A burst of herbaceous spice appears on the mid-palate.

Finish Lasting cardamom and nutmeg heat.

Reviews for Yellowstone Select Kentucky Straight Bourbon
It's good but easily beaten for less.
This is very heavily bready driven, it's hard to describe but one minute it's magnificent and then the next the nose is and flavour is very bready/milky with cardamom which is for me highly traumatic.

It does taste great 50% of the time however it's beaten massively by say Eagle Rare 10YO, it's actually beating by basic Four Roses actually. Basic four roses has twice the flavour of this and is almost half the price.

Alternatively buy Noah's Mill and have your socks blown off immediately.

JUVENILE
As soon as you take your first sniff you generally know what you are in for. Either and or both, the wood used was of a very tight grain which would require extended maturation to get maximum benefit or barrel with spirit contact was minimal. Only tastes slightly older than Moonshine. Shame because it is quality mash.

Nice bourbon, great neat or on ice, good value
Great value, paid $40 for this bottle in NC. Nice flavor for 93 proof. Balanced notes of oak, spice, vanilla, caramel, slight cherry and cedar, not too sweet. Missing a brown sugar and sweet tea note I like in bourbon but otherwise I recommend especially for the price.

Great hint of rye.
I’ve got to say this is great bourbon. Whilst not a full rye this has a little kick of rye at the ends that makes me want to try a full Rye. It’s a great bourbon and whilst some may call me a heathen for mixing it with Diet Coke I’ve got to say it’s a great drinking bourbon. If you like a wild turkey I think you would find this a little more mellow than the 101 but with a great flavour profile that leaves you wanting more.

Very nice bourbon. Bit spicy at the beginning, but with very long aftertaste. Smooth, caramel, vanilla. Wonderful

Excellent value
I bought this a few days back, for me this is very rye'ish the initial nose is very light weight bourbon, everytime I go back to the bottle it seems to be opening up more with taste. smooth, vibrant, thoroughly enjoying this, I would buy this again. A good everyday pour/dram.
