Outlaw Bourbon from Yellow Rose over in Texas is produced exclusively from Texas yellow corn in a pot still. It's then aged in small American oak barrels in Houston, where the temperature fluctuations give it an angel share of 15% a year (for comparison, in Scotland it's around 2%), before it's all bottled up at 46% ABV.
A hint of floral oak, with a drizzle of caramel and oak char in there too.
Buttery caramel, toffee popcorn and vanilla with a hint of marshmallow.
Treacle and more of that lingering oak char.
Absolutely gorgeous!! Easy sipping with a lovely after taste. Well worth the money, l will definitely be ordering again.
Of the about 15-20 bourbons I drank, this is among my best two, together with Basil Hayden. Sweet and not sharp. Bit on the expensive side, but for me it’s worth it.
It smells sweet, it tastes sweet - it must be bourbon, then. Anyway, apparent caramel and vanilla notes. Very nice nose, palate and finish. I went through two bottles and bought another to keep in my collection.
Absolutely delicious. I love it. Yes it is a bit sweet but that's to my liking. I drink lots of whisky from Scotland and Ireland, and some bourbon, and I think it is one of the better bourbons, as does my group of whisky drinking friends. I shared some of this and many of them loved it saying they were going to make it thier next bourbon purchase. I've read the other review and can't believe we were drinking the same drink. Perhaps Korea is the place to avoid buying it, but my bottle was beautiful, a sentiment agreed with by many of my drinking friends. I even used some in my bourbon bbq sauce. It was excellent. Looking forward to my next bottle.
I got this in Korea ON SALE. Um... the smell is very sweet. The taste... also very sweet. Let's just say, I can tell why it was on sale. Will I purchase it again? never. I don't recommend it. Get yourself a bottle of Glen Moray for the same price (NOT on sale).
