Yamazaki 50 Year Old

Yamazaki 50 Bottling Note

Strictly one per customer

Allow us to introduce the rarest and oldest Japanese single malt whisky of all time. Packaged impeccably and aged in the very finest Japanese Mizunara oak, this is a true connoisseur's dram - an exquisite, once-in-a-lifetime malt redolent of deep, intense spice and even a hint of umami. Absolutely incredible, this is a release of just 150 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Spiced and intense, with an almost perfume-like delivery of sandalwood, potpourri and incense. Supple sherry and even the vaguest whisper of smoke. The oak grip is good and very deep.

Palate: Incredibly rich - this is an enveloping malt, filled with aromatic wood, dried herbs and a barrage of exotic spices. A touch of manuka honey sweetness, chestnut mushrooms, allspice and even a hint of blossom.

Finish: A very long finish with a predominance of fruit of all kinds, from dried apricot to stewed apples and Madeira wine. A hint of agave nectar sweetness, and a plume of wood smoke.

Overall: This is an elegant and mind-blowing single malt. Once-in-a-lifetime stuff for sure...

Meh, I've had better

This whiskey wasn't bad. I've had better, but not many.

The box it comes in is nice...I guess.

Overall it's not a bad way to go if you want a low end whiskey for a white tiger hunting trip or as a gift for your caddie.

Hi there! Yamazaki single malt whisky is distilled at the Yamazaki distillery, which, indeed, is owned by Suntory. Interestingly, they also own the Morrison Bowmore trio of Bowmore, Auchentoshan and Glen Garioch distilleries in Scotland. - The Chaps at Master of Malt
