Woodford Reserve Kentucky Bourbon

Sorry about this...

We can't actually ship Woodford Reserve Kentucky Bourbon to the United States at the moment (although we're working hard to fix that).

In the meantime, our friends over at The Whisky Shop might be able to help you out.

Thank you for your support and understanding 🙂

Woodford Reserve Bottling Note

The mashbill for Woodford Reserve features a high percentage of rye: 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malt. The whiskey is also unusual for being triple distilled and having the lowest proof upon entering the barrel where it matures for at least six years. A must have Kentucky bourbon. Makes a wonderful Old-Fashioned cocktail!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Quite thick and creamy. There are notes of honey and spice, leather, a touch of cocoa, a little smoke, toasty oak and vanilla cream with a hint of butterscotch.

Palate: Thick and full. There are notes of espresso beans, winter spice, cereal sweetness, plenty of rye, ground ginger, almond oil, toasty oak and a little rum.

Finish: Long and mature with notes of cereals and toasty oaken spice.

Woodford Reserve Kentucky Bourbon Reviews

Tasty

Sweet and woody, tastes like Christmas in a log cabin. Excellent neat.

Junk

Harsh tastes like burned wood over priced

Nice, easy drinking ‘starter’ Bourbon. Gingerbread and brown sugar.

A first taste. My previous experience of Bourbon is confined to Whiskey Sours made with simple Kentucky Whiskey decades ago when I lived in the USA.
I have quite a collection of Malt Whiskies and love them but this was a fascinating introduction to decent Bourbon. Easy drinking with sweet, spicy complexity. My initial reaction was ‘gingerbread’ with brown sugar, honey and spice (cinnamon etc.).
Too easy to drink. My wife actually liked it (she won’t touch a Malt) which is significant.
I enjoyed it a lot and will consider it over time and explore its complexity in more detail over time.

Strong and full of flavour that lingers in the mouth

Novice bourbon drinker here so don't put too much faith in my review.
I like this but it does have a strong first taste that does stay with you for a while. It could become a firm favourite if I stuck with it. I still personally prefer Buffalo Trace for a daily drinker.

Good intro to bourbon

Notes of banana, brown sugar and light oak.
Taste of vanilla, caramel, pepper, cinnamon, oak .
Finish is hot for the proof, vanilla, cinnamon spice.

Buy it. Buy it now, fools.

Just about the best value Whisky I have ever purchased. Normally a single malt drinker but fancied something different and was not disappointed. All the feels and for £25. Miracle stuff.

Pour me another

I absolutely love the flavour of this incredible Bourbon. A most wonderful gift to give to someone special!

Just About My Favourite Bourbon

Woodford Reserve is a lovely, smooth bourbon with a warming vanilla finish, with no jar on the back of the throat, as some bourbons are wont to do. Beats Gentleman Jack into a cocked hat, although Buffalo Trace is an excellent alternative.

Great but heavy

Wonderful favours and smells, almost too heavy and thick on the tongue

15th January 2021

A very pleasant drink

Smells like a pack of sweets from the 1900s with honey, some spice and leather. Not harsh on the nose (like Gentleman Jack). Warms you up for a while but doesn't leave any burn on the way down.
