“Easily one of the best bourbons or even any kind of whisky in this price bracket. Yes, I prefer Bourbon over Scotch but even my scotch drinking friends love this when they visit me - I think that's a good enough review for this delicious whiskey ”

Description

The mashbill for Woodford Reserve features a high percentage of rye: 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malt. The whiskey is also unusual for being triple distilled and having the lowest proof upon entering the barrel where it matures for at least six years. A must have Kentucky bourbon. Makes a wonderful Old-Fashioned cocktail!

Nose

Quite thick and creamy. There are notes of honey and spice, leather, a touch of cocoa, a little smoke, toasty oak and vanilla cream with a hint of butterscotch.

Palate

Thick and full. There are notes of espresso beans, winter spice, cereal sweetness, plenty of rye, ground ginger, almond oil, toasty oak and a little rum.

Finish

Long and mature with notes of cereals and toasty oaken spice.

Reviews for Woodford Reserve Kentucky Bourbon

sweet kick in palates

My first go at bourbon and it delivers. sweet smell. Smooth taste. play with the sip in the mouth and the spices explodes. Need to try more

Buy makers mark instead

I am a bourbon person. I went through the reviews and decided to try it. Definitely smells like acetone!!! Honestly it just smells like acetone. I just wasted my money. Would never recommend it to anyone.

Ah mate I cannot describe this, it's just so darn good. Try it.

Master of Malt Customer Oct 20, 2019

Smooth, and mostly non-offensive

I'm early in my own process of trying to appreciate mid to lower priced whisky's and have been sampling a variety recommended to me by a local retail distributor, but after tonight I cancelled my little tournament and stored the others away for when I need to dig a bullet out of my leg. This is far away the best of those I've sampled thus far. But, it's early in my process, so time will tell.

Best in its price range and we'll above.

Best Bourbon in my price range. I usually buy it when the price drops to about £25. Excellent flavour, I like it neat with no ice cubes. I simple enjoy every drop of it.
