It's finally here - the Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey. This expression begins life being aged in the same way as the classic Woodford Reserve, but following this, it is further matured in barrels which have been heavily toasted and lightly charred. This imparts an added depth of sweet oaken character to the whiskey, as well as developing the fruit, vanilla and caramel notes.
Black cherries, toffee, dark chocolate, honey and toasted almonds.
Rich and full with notes of baked apples, cinnamon, cloves and caramel.
Creamy and smooth with vanilla and baking spices.

There's this and a cheap Indian whisky that I can drink straight and enjoy.Got as a present nether knew I had so good friends.
It is a nice change from the single oaked bourbons. From the first sip, you can taste the difference. It is more complex - there is something different here. I won’t pretend to give you “other” flavors, but as a bourbon drinker it’s like the difference between sugar and brown sugar. You can taste the additional flavors from the second barrel. It is all good, but I’d describe is it is “rich.” One refill to finish the ice cubes is enough. Worth a try.
Holds level with a longer confrontation with single malt.
Beautiful bourbon. Complex, so smooth, and it’s great to sip on straight. Not harsh at all like some bourbons I’ve tried in the past. To me it’s like the bourbon equivalent of scotch.
The woodsy oak flavor sneaks in & out throughout its time on the palate, intermittently with vanilla & spice... this is a tremendous whiskey, in the running for my favorite bourbon.
