Woodford Reserve Double Double Oak 70cl Whiskey

Woodford Reserve takes the already rather oak-forward Double Oaked and gives it yet more time in wood. Fully matured Woodford Reserve Double Oaked spends an additional two years in a second new oak barrel, deeply toasted and lightly charred, creating the aptly named Double Double Oaked. This, in theory, is a principle that could be extended a number of times. Is Double Double Double Oak in the works?

Bottled at 45.2% ABV, the extended maturation turns up the darker, richer side of Woodford, with maple, caramelised sugars, dark fruit and plenty of warming spice.
