Wolfburn Lest We Forget Bottling Note

The Wolfburn distillery teamed up with Carnegie Whisky Cellars to create this limited edition bottling, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the First World War's end. It's a lightly peated single malt, featuring a small portion of the whisky drawn from sherry casks, and has been bottled at 46% ABV. Both Wolfburn and Carnegie Whisky Cellars agreed to donate £5 for each bottle sold to Poppyscotland as part of the 1918 Poppy Pledge. A release of 1,918 bottles.

Nose: Whiffs of smoky peanut shells and baked earth, well-balanced by layers of apricot and lemon drizzle cake.

Palate: Oily walnut, toasted brioche, Bakewell tart and scones with fresh cream.

Finish: Just a hint of toasted oak smoke sticks around.
