It's the first That Boutique-y Whisky Company bottling of whisky from New Zealand! What a treat! This was produced by the Willowbank distillery on New Zealand's South Island, which was sadly closed in 1997. It's a rare find, but indie bottlers still manage to get their hands on casks of it even today - and we're rather pleased about that!
Batch 1 is a release of 307 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Green apples and warm Acacia honey lead to vanilla pod and almond pastries. Teasing smoky hints rise with notes of milky coffee, drying cinnamon and polished oak.
A little forest floor earthiness and Werther's Originals sweetness bring subtle flavours to a palate bursting with raw cinnamon heat, barley sugar, beaten leather and spiced treacle tart with custard.
Burnt sugars and touches of floral oak.
A distinctive, flavoursome Willowbank that packs a punch.

Yeah very unique whisky with a really huge redwine influence.I appreciate its uniqueness but im not quite sure if i really like it. On the nose its a strange mix of redwine and glue for me.its very complex-perhaps to complex for my degustation skills :). Its extremely fruity and sweet on the palate and gets very dry on the tongue-just like red wine.
Huge Wine Influence. No Sulphur. Pure Tasty
