Named after the American whiskey pioneer, the William Larue Weller bourbons released as part of the much-adored Buffalo Trace Antique Collection feature wheat taking the place of rye in their mashbill. The 2017 edition packs a hearty 64.1% ABV and notes of “Toffee, marshmallow, and leather” according to the distillers. Yum.

Compared to the 2016, the 2017 WLW was a bit closed in terms of the flavor profile but all in all an awesome bourbon. My favorite is the 2016 it was one of the best bourbons I’ve ever tasted.
