Released as part of Buffalo Trace's award-winning Antique Collection, William Larue Weller is a high-proof wheated bourbon which was launched in Autumn 2012.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Huge spices on the nose with a little pepper, maple syrup and American-style pancakes. Orange marmalade and aniseed, hints of cigar leaves and morello cherry.
Palate
Rich, oaky palate with huge notes of fiery spice (cinnamon and allspice in particular), followed by hints of menthol, candy floss and rose petal jelly.
Finish
Long, sublime finish with hints of spice, custard apple and butterscotch.
Overall
Absolutely delicious.
