From William Grant comes Aerstone Sea Cask, a 10 year old single malt hailing from the Ailsa Bay Distillery. Its decade of maturation wasn't spent quite in the sea, though those maritime notes were still soaked up thanks to its ageing process in warehouses by the sea on the Ayrshire coast in Scotland.
Buttery toffee, creamy vanilla, freshly baked shortbread, honeyed malt, orange citrus and a dusting of cinnamon and cocoa.
Floral malt, nougat, vanilla sponge and more honey, with orange sweeties, icing sugar and earthy oak.
Notes of clove, candied lemon and vanilla pod linger, as a pinch of salt appears on the finish.

Quite simply a very good whisky that does not disappoint. Possibly the best whisky you can buy at this ridiculously low price.
A drams a dram for a that. Lacking the salty tang of Talisker or Old Pulteney, I guess the tide might have been out for this one. It's a decent dram but maybe a bit oversold, especially when compared to the 'land cask' version. Good value if you can get it for £20 though.
To be fair, when this is on offer £20 , i pick up a bottle, its, very good value. Light, honey, vanila very slight saline taste, i dont think there is colouring, 10 yr barrel aging giving colour, chill filtered.. yes. Make no mistake, this is a good quality whisky, can easily drink it too quickly It makes, a change from my Islay whisky, Ardbeg, Laphroaig, Bruchladdie, Bunnahabain,..... Its my go to Lowland whisky...
I'm very new to whisky. I like Bushmills single malt and not smokey whisky. I tried this as a Speyside alternative and was initially underwhelmed. However, the more I approach it, the more I like it. Very interesting, lingering aftertaste.
Excellent value and a very enjoyable whiskey. Yes it lacks the complexity of 12 and 15 year old whiskey but the giveaway is that it’s a 10 year whiskey. For that it is very smooth and drinkable.
