Description
A richly layered whisky from Wire Works, this Port Wine LBV release showcases a dual maturation process, first resting in first-fill bourbon barrels before finishing in Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) Port barriques. This finishing stage brings vibrant fruity sweetness, adding depth and complexity to Wire Works' lightly-peated spirit. There's just 1,293 bottles available, presented at 53.3% ABV.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Cinnamon swirl, apricot, orange marmalade, star anise, and white chocolate.
Palate
Jelly babies, raspberry-blackcurrant jam, candied almonds, vanilla fudge, and Bakewell tart.
Finish
Candied orange peel, eucalyptus, treacle tart, and a whisper of peat.
