White Oak Akashi Single Malt 10 Year Old
From the lesser-known White Oak distillery based in Hyogo comes this 10 Year Old whisky! The single malt spent its decade of ageing in a sherry butt, so it's a lovely jammy fruit affair, all bottled up at a generous 60% ABV. The bottle is even accompanied by a white oak cork coaster, just to tie it all together.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Lots of raisins and sultanas, with oak char and raspberry jam.
Palate
Cherry cake, clear sherry influence and Christmas spices, with dry oak, blackberry crumble and a drizzle of treacle.
Finish
Cooked plums with a dusting of cinnamon and very dark chocolate.
