WhistlePig 18 Year Old Double Malt
Behold, the oldest whiskey from WhistlePig to date! The 18 Year Old Double Malt is the result of experimentation with grains - specifically, malting rye. It's not a particularly common thing, but the result seems to be rather wonderful indeed. This expression is built from 79% rye, 15% malted rye and 6% malted barley, and has been matured for 18 years before bottling. Very handsome bottles and all, with a rather sizeable stopper.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Nose
Sweet and aromatic, with toasted oak, berries, and nutmeg.
Palate
Elegant and spicy, mildly fruity, and pleasantly floral. Vanilla and oak notes appear with time.
Finish
Wonderfully long, clean, and spicy finish.
