Back with a third batch, this edition of Living Souls 40 Year Old Blended Scotch has been given the Islay cask treatment. The 1984 vintage whisky matured until 1998 before it was blended and laid down to marry in a host of refill sherry butts. Then, in early 2025, the team at Living Souls decanted the blend into four quarter casks that previously held Islay whisky before it was vatted, and bottled at cask strength, bringing intriguing hints of savoury peat smoke to the tropical sweetness and spice at its core.
