Description

Do you love whiskies that pack a big ol' blast of smoky brilliance? Then Peat Bomb is a single malt that's well worth a look! This expression is an 8 year old single malt from an undisclosed distillery on the isle of Islay, and as the name suggests, it's mightily peaty indeed. Earthy smoke, bonfire embers, simmering spice – it's all there and more.

Nose

Oatcakes, smoky bacon crisps, baked earth, cracked black pepper, with a whisper of caramelised nuts underneath.

Palate

Brown sugar, nutmeg, roast chestnuts, cask char, loads of phenolic notes drifting in.

Finish

Savoury oak with singed barley and sea salt crisps.

Overall

A Peat Bomb by name and by nature.

Reviews for Peat Bomb 8 Year Old

Sort by

Poor value even at £25

Not sure where the peat is, it’s dumbed down and very thin

Master of Malt Customer Jan 17, 2023

Flat

Poor for the money, watery and not that peaty

Alexander Butler bates Aug 29, 2022

Full depth of flavour

Great peaty smoky whisky - full depth of flavour for a young whisky with a slightly sweet finish. A great whisky to sip, or finish the night off with.

Master of Malt Customer Jun 18, 2022

Will buy this again

Very Nice and peaty, with a sweetness at the end.
