Whiskey Thief

Whiskey Thief Bottling Note

It's whiskey with a mask! Is it super whiskey? Whiskey Thief, you say? Well I'm sure he only robs so you can enjoy this straight bourbon, like some kind of Robin Zorro. It's matured in fresh oak barrels and finished with toasted staves to help impart more character in a shorter period of time.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Producer's Tasting Note:
Mature and truly well-rounded flavour, with a pleasant sweetness, an undercurrent of fruit spice and delicate vanilla and mocha notes.

Reviews for Whiskey Thief
Yes, ok.
Not bad, especially for a cheap(er) bourbon.
Not good, especially as it’s not from Kentucky!
I would recommend it if you are on a budget.

Smooth thief
Mmmm nice and smooth, and nice with a dash of ginger beer, yes I said ginger beer. That aside a nice drink on its own. Will buy again .

Overall, this is an approachable Bourbon at the price point and would do enough for beginners to try ... more seasoned hands will find the lack of layers disappointing.
On the nose it comes across as woody with a hint of vanilla and spice. It imparts a sizeable oak hit of flavour upon tasting, which gives way quickly to a sweetness - it feels light on the overall mouthfeel and at 40% this might be better suited as a mixer rather than a sipping whisky, but it is not unpleasant. A good hug on the swallow with a lingering wood aftertaste in keeping with its manufacture.

Warm & wonderful
That lovely Southern smoothness that the best American whiskies have..great full nose, fruity, spice, a touch of oak and very easy on the finish.

Another Whiskey Thief in Fort Worth
Really nice tasting whiskey. Trinity River Distillery in Fort Worth has applied to trademark the name “Whiskey Thief.” I cant wait to try theirs too.

Pleasantly surprised!
As a single malt (peaty) and bourbon (mainly Jim Beam Devil's cut) drinker, I thought I'd give this a try. A sweet, easy drink with a nice lingering warmth. Will definitely buy again!
