Peated single malt whiskey from the Westland distillery in Seattle, USA. American peated whiskey doesn't happen all that often, and is often rather interesting indeed!
Nose: Orange and lemon peel at first, before a wave of smoky peat rolls in.
Palate: Smoky peanut shells and a little medicinal malt, alongside leafy mint.
Finish: Fruity esters and a pinch of ground pepper.

Tried this at a local bar recently, they know I like a bourbon normally but have been experimenting with peated whisky, it was really delicate and surprising for a NAS - marked down a little for the price point, as for this money there are probably older and better liquids, however - worth a taste
