Westland Peated

From the Westland distillery in Seattle, USA, comes an American single malt made with a proportion of very heavily peated whisky and unpeated, all aged in American oak and bottled at 46% ABV. American peated whiskey doesn't happen all that often, so enjoy the rarity of this one.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Orange and lemon peel at first, before a wave of smoky peat rolls in.

Palate Smoky peanut shells and a little medicinal malt, alongside leafy mint.

Finish Fruity esters and a pinch of ground pepper.

Reviews for Westland Peated
Surprising
Tried this at a local bar recently, they know I like a bourbon normally but have been experimenting with peated whisky, it was really delicate and surprising for a NAS - marked down a little for the price point, as for this money there are probably older and better liquids, however - worth a taste

Lightly peated with a beautiful ending note
Bold Banna and iodine taste that melts into a toasted malt and ovaltine finish that lingers
