Westland American Oak Reviews

Interesting, but not worth the price.

I have a bottle of this that was being sold for around $30. It’s worth a try at that price. I’ve seen it for over $70 since then and would definitely not recommend buying it at that price. It’s aged in virgin oak casks for 3 years, so it does come across as having some similarities to bourbon. It has nice depth and complexity, but shows it’s short aging time in a noticeable harshness. Overall, it’s not bad for an American made scotch-style whisky, but I don’t think it is worth the prices they are charging for it. I would be really interested to see if the distillery comes out with some higher age statement bottlings in the future. I think this shows real potential, but isn’t quite there yet.

Really good single Malt.

Disagree with the previous persons reveiw, I really enjoyed this Single Malt from Westland, full of flavour, great on the nose and certainly worth the money. As always it's personal taste.

Not great but for the price avoid

Let's say that middling is a good way to describe this whisky that doesn't seem to find it's place tasting more like a bourbon/single malt mix than an actual single malt.

The price they charge for it is basically an insult. Have a look at this site what £63.90 gets you and make up your mind if a less than 3 year old bourbon/single malt is worth it for you.
